Ps3 Consoles – Phenomenal Console, I Love It!
For weeks I was torn on whether to purchase the PS3 Consoles Slim or the XBOX 360 Elite. I own a Zune (soon to be upgraded to the new Zune HD) and it was a compelling consideration to have my Zune integrated with the XBOX. However, after much research it boiled down to the following:
- Wireless LAN ** Included With PS3 Consoles
- Blueray Player ** Included With PS3 Consoles
- Free Netflix Streaming ** Included With PS3 (XBOX Requires GOLD Membership)
- Low Failure Rate ** Included With PS3 Consoles
- Playstation Network ** Included With PS3 Consoles (XBOX is $50/year)
- User Replaceable Hard Drive ** Included With PS3 (XBOX uses MS proprietary HDD)
The PS3 Consoles is a much better value when you consider all that Microsoft “chooses” not to include in the XBOX 360 platform.
I’m most certain that the XBOX is a worthy opponent nonetheless, research and clear data led me to but one conclusion… The PS3 Consoles SLIM!!!! I purchased the PS3 Consoles primarily for the blueray capabilities and to function as a media server. Yet, I am certain that I will become hooked on the gaming capabilities as time goes on. Regarding the media server, I was streaming music WIRELESSLY within 30 minutes after connecting the PS3 Consoles! DLNA works perfectly with my Western Digital My Book World Edition II. The network setup is amazingly easy and intuitive.
Thanks Sony for producing such a phenomenal product and of course for the significant price reduction!! I definitely recommend the PS3 Consoles Slim…. go out and get you one too!! Good luck on your purchase… BTW, I did purchase from Amazon but I was one of the lucky ones who hooked one of the Black Friday Specials (hence, it does not show “Amazon Verified Purchase”). what is the best console ps3 or xbox 360 elite?
is a ps3 better than a xbox 360 elite or is xbox 360 elite better than ps3?
I have to go with the PS3. The 360 suffers from a constant overheating problem that still plagues the 360. The Yellow Light of Death (which is the PS3 equivalent to 360’s Red Ring of Death) does not plague newer consoles.
PS3 will last longer.
With the 360, you have to pay for online. Though, it has less online content, the PS3 still has it’s own online positives such as PlayStation Home. (A 3D World that puts players in environments dedicated to certain games.)
PS3 has free online.
Let’s look at exclusives. Sure the 360 has Halo and Gears of War, but do you really want a console that only has first-person shooters as its exclusives. The PS3 has InFamous, Uncharted, Killzone 2, Little Big Planet, MotorStorm, and coming soon in the year, Heavy Rain and Uncharted 2. A list like this is full of variety and more than just FPS, FPS, FPS.
PS3’s exclusives have more variety.
The PS3 has built-in WiFi which allows you to access an online connection without having to connect the system to an Ethernet cable (wired modem or wireless router). My internet routers/modems are all in my basement and my PS3 is one floor higher. With the 360, you have to connect the console to a router or modem. If you want WiFi, you have to pay another $100!!!!

So to sum up, PS3 is the better buy. With the PS3, you buy the console and you’re set. With the 360, you buy the console, then you’ll have to buy a cooler (since it will eventually suffer the overheating problem which will lead to the Red Ring of Death) and that will cost you another $30. Then, if you want WiFi, that’s another $100. Oh, and don’t forget the monthly online payments.
Final decision: PS3!!!!!
