PS3 games that play in 1080i?
May i have a list of PS3 game that play in 1080i(or coming out in 1080i)and a list that do not
I bought my tv in 2004 its only 1080i and 480p
Also i was wondering…
Why does me playing CoD4 on 1080i and 480p look very similar
does CoD4 even playin in 1080i?(says on back of box)

You don’t have to have HDMI for 1080i, only for 1080p.
If you’re not seeing any difference between 1080i and 480p on COD4, it probably means you’re only getting 480p. Most ps3 games still max out at 720p display. The ps3, at the moment, will not automatically upscale every game that doesn’t have a 1080 output, so most games will switch your resolution to 720p (or 480p if you don’t have 720) after you start the game. You can tell when that happens because the screen will go blank and you’ll see some visual patterns on the screen for a second as it switches resolution.
COD4 is almost certainly one of the games that doesn’t have a native 1080 resolution. In fact its native resolution is probably less the 720p, most shooters are. They are developed at resolutions around 800×600, then they either upscale their output to 720p or down to 480.
Off the top of my head the only game I know that supports 1080i is High Velocity Bowling, but there are many more, I just can’t think of them. If you want a comprehensive list, I know there is one on the Wikipedia. Run a search like “ps3 game 1080i list” and you’ll probably find it.
If your ps3 is ps2-compatible, you can play Gran Turismo 4 in 1080i too. Only 1080i ps2 game in existence except one japan-only game.
